The "AWESOME American ADVENTURE" blog contribution by Marita

So... Tine asked me to write in this blog and I felt both honored and a little underprepared for my first blog experience!

My technology-phobia aside, I'm excited about being able to share my perspectives on this adventure so far. In a word, it has been AWESOME!!

Tine and Marie remain my favorite travel-buddies. They are AWESOME!! Tine is always positive and Marie is always patient, and they are both always smiling. They don't hold taking wrong turns (and 50 mile accidental detours!) against me. They are good at maps. They also enjoy being spontaneous and indulging in "dance emergencies" in inappropriate locations. So. Much. Fun. Oh and we are united in our love for our Ford Territory Melissa and united in our hate for our evil GPS aptly named Joanie. She is a bitch. Recalculating.

Americans like to use the word AWESOME, they use it a lot. They also freak me out with their friendliness. People are always smiling and asking "how are you doing?" (NOT "how are you going?, the greeting preferred by Aussies and resulting in frequent confusion of Americans who ask "going?").

I just realized I haven't even mentioned the travels yet... I'll summarize each location in one word below:

LA: sleazy

Las Vegas: shiny

Grand Canyon: big

Sequoia: bear

Yosemite: OMG (I cheated!)

In summary, trip so far has been AWESOME! I'll post again at the end with an updated list of descriptive words to match each location haha!
